Prom: Dresses

hiya!

I've decided to do a Prom checklist kind of thing through many different post covering different prom worries like a dress, shoes, clutch etc.

This post is all about finding that perfect dress to wear for that send off into the real world from Year 11 or Year 13.

these are my 4 top tips to find the perfect prom dress...

1. Find your style - this could mean a certain type of material or a length or weather it has sleeves or not. your style could be a floor length dress with a shoulder strap or it could be strapless short/knee length dress.

2. Find your preferred colour dress -  the only way to do this is to look back on old dresses from parties and see what colour suited you or going to a dress/ shop like House of Fraser and trying every thing you see that you or your friend likes.

3. Once you have found your style dress and what colour, the next thing to try is weather you want jewels and if you want a focus point on your dress or weather you want a plain dress to accessorise to your style. you may ant a silver/gold jewelled belt to create a smaller waist or if you want a backless dress.

4. Think of a colour theme with your dress - try to think what you could match with the dress to make you look fashionable and stylish while also feeling your best. Try to match another colour that compliments your dress like a navy blue dress and a nude/ pale pink shoes and clutch.

I hope you think about these tips when finding your perfect prom dress.

These are few pictures of my favourite prom dresses that I found...

I found these images on the internet and have no clue about price or where they are from.

Prom: Top Ten Tips

Hiya,

I am in Year 9 at school but the heat of conversation between my friends is Prom in year 11.

Me and two of my best friends have been chatting about prom dresses, shoes, make-up looks, shoes (louboutins), and venues etc.

So these are my top 10 tips that you need to know before prom:

1. plan your look - Find photos on tumblr or pinterest and pick the out or save then to your phone to create a kind of mood board from your prom. to find your perfect colour dress and matching shoes and handbag and to find the perfect make-up look.

2.  book  hair, nail, make-up appointments in advance before everyone get fully booked. you want to look your best on your prom day so make sure you look perfect.

3. find the perfect dress - one that is pretty and flattering but is also comfortable and easy to be you. you will probably only wear the dress once, so don't spend a fortune on it, focus more on the things you might wear again i.e. shoes or clutch or jewelry.

4. make sure you get a dress that no one else is wearing, you don't want a 'dress twin'. ask your friends what they are wearing so you don't match.

5. take photos before your prom day to find your best face expression and best side, photos that you take on prom day will last you forever and you don't want to be embarrassed each time you look back at your photos.

6. host or go to a after/before prom party to take photos with your date or friends. find a simple background where you look beautiful and don't blend into the back ground. ( don't take photos in  front of a tree or bush if you have a green dress!! )

7. go shopping for you dress or suit/tuxedo with your friends as they (hopefully) will tell you the truth about what you look like instead of your mum or dad who might have a biased opinion.

8. only carry around your bare essentials for girls this may be a lipstick/concealer/mascara to touch up your make-up, your keys, some bobby pins , a mini mirror and of douse your Phone!!

9.  have a pamper night before prom with your friends to feel relaxed and calm. do face masks and take a bath as well with your favourite lush product etc.

10. Enjoy yourself, you only have 1 prom, make it count and try not to get too drunk! :)

Back to Basics

Hiya,

I haven't posted in ages because of all the New Year Celebrations and then Exam week at school!

Happy New year! It's 2016!

When cleaning up my makeup box/bag/draws I found that I have about a thousands beauty products which I haven't used since 2014. So I went back to basics to getting a flawless face and make-up look. These are my top 10 products to have in your make-up bag.

1. A foundation that matches your skin tone

Are you ivory, fair, soft beige? Do you even know your actual foundation shade? Most people don't and a way to find out id to go into Boots or another makeup store and ask to find your perfect match.

A fountain is always important to cover up spots, blemishes and dark circles.

Tip: You can apply moisturiser and primer to give your look a flawless base and make any other make-up easier to apply.

2. A concealer

Dark circles still visible? Can you still see some blemishes? Touch up with concealer to conceal any parts you don't like.

Tip: apply your concealer in a triangle under your eyes to make your make-up look natural.

3. Powder

Oily skin? Shiny face? To make your face matte apply a powder which a matte finish to make your skin look less oily.

4. A rosy blush

Looking like a ghost? add some colour to your cheeks to bring yourself back to life. A nice rosy red/pink blush that makes your skin look its best is probably the best blush for you and bring your face back to life.

Tip: apply your blush to the apple of your check and slowly blend it into your face to create a natural look.

5. A shimmer highlighter

If you don't like a bit of shimmer or sparkle I would miss this product out but I personally do love a bit of glitter to make you look like a fairy or angel. a shimmer highlighter will bring out your cheek bones as well as sparkle your face.

6. A matte eyeshadow

A simple matte eyeshadow to define your eyes is a good buy for 2016 as it creates a visible block of colour to bring out your eye colour.

Tip: buy a matte eyeshadow that matches your skin colour and then slowly introduce colour back to your face.

7. A liquid eyeliner

This is a must have for me as when you want to make your eyes pop! Use a eyeliner to define your eyes.

Tip: open your eye to see and mark the right spot to create a winged liner look.

8. A eyelash curler

most eyelashes grow outwards instead of upwards... Eyelash curlers can make that differed and it also helps make mascara easier to put on.

If you are scared of eyelash curlers take your time while curling your lashes so you slowly get used the beauty tool.

9.  A non-clump mascara

Eyelashes look bare or dull? Add mascara to open up your eye and finish off your eyes.

Tip: buy a non-clump mascara to make sure your lashes don't get stuck together with lumps of black mascara.

10. A bold lipstick  or tinted lip balm

A good lip colour is essential in creating a look that make you feel confident and happy.  The perfect lipstick will give you self-confidence and a bounce in your step... you just have to find what you are comfortable wearing.

Those are my Basic make-up products/tools...

I hope you create a confident look with makes you feel good about yourself.

Thanks
