Internet kids don't sleep

Hiya

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! Our phones always keep buzzing from social media, text messages from Mum or from friends and phone calls.

My Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and Snapchat pull me into an alternate universe of photos, comments and likes. I have been sucked into the internet sensation frenzy where more likes = more friends = popularity.

The 'Selfie Rampage'!  Yes, I do post selfies of me trying to look gorgeous (Teenage Struggles)  but it never really works out well with my double chin and big forehead. I comment 'slang' word like 'Buff', 'Beauts' and 'gorg' AND to prove what I mean I add little emoji hearts and yellow faces.

It's easy to understand I have fallen under the terrible illness of FOBO.
Fear .
Of .
Being .
Offline.

What the hell has happened to me?!

I have searched throughly to find out the conditions...
1) You always ask if there is WiFi, everywhere you go.
2) You go to sleep with your phone or laptop or tablet under your pillow or next to your bed.
3) You treat your phone like its a human being
4) You would rather play with your phone than see your BF
5) When you wake up and before you go to bed you check Insta, Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter
6) you bring your laptop, tablet to places they shouldn't really be like a night club or party
7) You think to yourself 'Why meet up when I can FaceTime?'
8) you would rather walk back to home to collect you phone than leave it for one or two hours.
9) You get annoyed because to different country service charges
10) When you have no battery you NEED to find a way to charge or phone or you might as well die.

Well, I can definitely say I am a full carrier of FOBO. I tick the 'YES' box to every single statement!

I am a contant social media checker. I have checked Insta about 12 times while trying to write this post.
Saying that social media has given me advantages that I wouldn't normally have, I can now speak to a person from the USA when I'm sitting in my bed surrounded by my duvet cover in London.

But social media can be rude and hurtful because of people I like to call "twats" because the definition of 'Twat' is 'a person regarded as stupid or obnoxious.' (Google definitions)

Well anyway, social media can connect us but also disconnect us.

While we are all on our phones thinking that were have thousands of friends on Facebook ,who many of those people we don't actually know, can you imagine that only one or two would actually save your back.

I have lost count of how many times I am out with my friends and we are sitting around a table in McDonalds. We ALL have our phones out checking how many likes we got on our Instagram post. we are surrounded in a world of fake connection when truly we are all disconnected.

Please make a connection real by talking to someone face to face and not through a computer screen.

Thanks my darlings

Fairy Lights & Cozy Nights  xxx
